Eco-Warriors

Springfield was very privileged to be selected as West Sussex County Council recycling heroes! 

Everything is collected in classroom bins and recycled through ‘Recycling in Lancing’ to raise money for local charities. 

Paper towels and shredded paper also end up in the outdoor compost piles, and before they know it can be used to grow vegetables in the school community garden.  

With the help of teacher and Eco Lead Miss Manvell and Miss Pernet, the children learn in their 3 Rs classes about the importance of Reducing, Reusing and Recycling, and have done so well, that they beat over 200 schools to come second in a community education competition.

All hail the eco warriors of Springfield Infant School in Sackville Road!
