About Us

Springfield Infant School and Nursery is a two-form entry school with its own nursery serving parts of Broadwater and East Worthing. We provide education for children aged between 3 and 7 years, with 30 children per class in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 and 40 nursery children.

The learning environment at Springfield is engaging, well-resourced and child-centred. Alongside our large and bright classrooms, each year group has a shared learning area equipped with art, role play and reading materials as well as a computer suite and a well-utilised library.

Creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment is important in helping children achieve their full potential. We are proud to have a dedicated sensory space, Polar Bear room, a wonderful team of experienced Teaching Assistants and an Inclusion Team who provide support and guidance to children who need it at any stage of their journey through Springfield.

We are privileged to have a wide range of outdoor spaces available to us that serve to enrich the learning experience beyond the classroom. Our children enjoy a wide range of outdoor play equipment, opportunities to observe nature and grow things themselves or to sit and play with friends in our covered gazebo.

We are deeply invested in our local community and work to encourage strong connections with parents and carers, welcoming them in to help with reading, sports and other activities throughout the year. Children will also have access to a wide range of clubs, trips and visits, as well as opportunities to take part in sporting events, plays and themed weeks that allow us to nurture interests beyond the curriculum.

Above all else, the things that make Springfield unique are our children, our families and our staff and we hope you will agree that it is a special place for young people to start their learning journey.
