My relationship with Springfield began about 20 years ago when the first of my grandsons started his school life here. Since then, two others have also attended Springfield and all three enjoyed their time in this school. For a few years now, I have been coming into school to listen to year 1 children read. It is so satisfying to be part of their progress, and to get to know them. I highly recommend it! I look forward to becoming more involved in Springfield in my new role as a Governor, and trust that I can add something to the diversity of the team.

I am a retired primary school teacher. I spent most of my career teaching infants, specialising in the development of early literacy skills. I came to help at Springfield when my grandson was here. Although now he goes to Homefield, I have been lucky enough to stay and offer an extra pair of hands. Springfield is such a wonderful school, and I am very pleased to be able to join the governing body.

I am Mary Stewart. I have enjoyed coming to Springfield with the Open the Book storytelling team each half term for an assembly, since 2016. The children take part in the story telling with acting and actions. I am a member of St Stephen’s Church Angola Road, and the team comes from different local churches. In turn we have loved coming to their school plays. I am a retired teacher and I taught in Kent, West Sussex and a local secondary school. My last school was a first school in Worthing . I taught there for for 17 years and was a Staff Governor. I am looking forward to serving at Springfield.
